Now Showing: A Year with Frog and Toad
Broadway musical showing at Seattle Children's Theatre through Jan. 15
Last weekend, my son and I were given tickets to see A Year with Frog and Toad at the Seattle Children’s Theatre. We were both excited to see it, as he loves the Frog and Toad books and I enjoy reading them to him. If you’re not familiar with the Frog and Toad stories, they are heartwarming tales of friendship.
The show did not disappoint. The songs were delightful in this Broadway musical. The play takes the title characters through a year in their friendship – going through the seasons. My son – and all the other children in the theater (as well as the grown-ups) – had many laughs throughout the show. And in the past week since we saw the show, I often hear my son singing some of the songs from the play, from "Cookies," a catchy song about the characters' love for - yes, cookies, to the timely "Merry Almost Christmas."
If you get a chance, go into Seattle to check this play out. It’s definitely appropriate for kids of all ages – and you’re bound to enjoy it, too! A Year with Frog and Toad runs through Jan. 15, 2012. Click here for showtimes and ticket information.
