Brighton School – A Comprehensive Learning Experience

At Brighton School, we provide a well-rounded, nurturing, and engaging educational environment for students from preschool through eighth grade. Our curriculum is designed to promote intellectual, social, and emotional growth while fostering a lifelong love of learning. We are committed to ensuring that every student receives a challenging, enriching education within a supportive community.

Links to Learning Preschool Curriculum (Ages 3 to 5)

Our Links to Learning preschool curriculum is designed to build a solid foundation for early learners. Structured around five developmental stages, it introduces new concepts and reinforces existing skills in a fun and engaging way. Children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on activities that promote curiosity and a deep love of learning.

Language & Literacy

We begin fostering early literacy by introducing children to stories, letters, and words in ways that are interactive and engaging. Through storytelling, letter recognition, and early writing activities, children gain the literacy skills necessary to become confident readers and writers.

Mathematical Thinking

In our preschool program, mathematics is taught in a fun and accessible way. Activities like counting, recognizing patterns, and solving simple puzzles help children develop their problem-solving and logical thinking skills. These foundational math skills provide a springboard for more advanced concepts in later years.

Social-Emotional Learning

Social-emotional development is a key focus at Brighton. Our curriculum helps children understand their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop empathy for others. Through cooperative activities and guided discussions, students learn essential skills such as conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and effective communication.

Wellness

Physical activity is vital to a child's development, and our wellness curriculum helps children develop fine and gross motor skills through games, dancing, and outdoor play. We also introduce basic concepts of nutrition and safety, teaching children the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Creative Expression

Creativity is integral to our curriculum. Children have opportunities to express themselves through art, music, and imaginative play. These activities help students develop self-confidence and learn to think outside the box. Whether painting, playing instruments, or engaging in dramatic play, creative expression is encouraged throughout the day.

Scientific Exploration

Our scientific exploration activities help children learn to observe, experiment, and think critically. Hands-on experiments and nature exploration foster curiosity and encourage children to work together to solve problems. These activities lay the groundwork for future learning in the sciences.

Citizens of the World

Brighton introduces children to global awareness by incorporating different cultures, languages, and perspectives into our curriculum. Our students are introduced to Spanish, giving them the opportunity to learn another language while developing a broader understanding of the world around them.

Kindergarten – 8th Grade Curriculum

As students progress to kindergarten through eighth grade, they engage in a curriculum that emphasizes academic rigor, creativity, and critical thinking. Core subjects such as language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies are taught through hands-on projects, real-world applications, and technology integration. Our goal is to prepare students for success in high school and beyond, focusing on 21st-century skills like communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Extracurricular Programs

In addition to academics, Brighton School offers a variety of extracurricular activities to ensure that students develop a well-rounded skill set. Our athletics program promotes physical fitness and teamwork, while our enrichment clubs allow students to explore interests in robotics, theater, music and more. These activities foster personal growth and confidence in a supportive environment.

Camp Programs and Before/After School Care

Brighton School offers camp programs during the summer and school breaks, providing students with opportunities for enrichment, STEM challenges, and outdoor adventures. These camps are designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving while ensuring that children have fun and stay engaged.

We also provide before and after school care for families who need flexible schedules. The before-school program provides a quiet space for students to engage in academic enrichment, while the after-school program offers recreational activities, arts, and homework assistance, ensuring that students have a balanced and enriching school day.

At Brighton School, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
